Description

Calling all Pokémon Trainers!

Join us for our Pokémon GO Challenge!

Event structure:

  • Swiss Rounds + Single Elimination (number of rounds based on player count in each age division, minimum 3 rounds)
  • Best of 3 games in each round
  • GO Great League restrictions (all Pokémon must be CP 1500 or less)
  • Bring 6, Choose 3 (each player will submit a team of 6 Pokémon they will use throughout the event. In each match, you will select 3 of those Pokémon to battle with for that match)

Players must provide their own device that natively supports Pokémon GO for this tournament and are responsible for ensuring functionality of their device and keeping their batteries charged. Please make sure your Pokémon GO app is up-to-date and that your device is not running modified or custom operating systems, firmware or Pokémon GO app. Players will be required to connect to store Wi-Fi and enable Airplane Mode for the duration of each match. Players may use their devices normally between rounds, but should keep their remaining battery in mind when doing so.

Players must fill out and submit an accurate and complete Pokémon GO Team List (Team Lists). Team Lists can be emailed to balance.ma.gaming@gmail.com with the subject line: Pokémon Go Challenge Team List or brought in as a physical copy to the event. We will be checking Team Lists versus the Pokémon you use in the event so please be accurate in your reporting.

  • Each Pokémon on your Team List must have a unique label that is not shared with any other Pokémon in your inventory

You will need the second page of the Team List (The Pokémon GO Team Preview List) in a physical copy to present to your opponent before each match.

At the beginning of each match, players will have up to 2 minutes to review their opponent's Team Preview List before choosing the 3 Pokémon they will use in the first game of the match. Players can choose a different team of 3 for each game in the match.

Prizing:

  • Each player will receive a special promo Pokémon TCG card with a unique redemption code, that leads to specials tasks in the Pokémon GO app. (The card is a copy of Professor's Research (Professor Willow) that can only be found with this art and frame as a promo card). Only one code per account can be redeemed. (while supplies last)
  • Players will receive Pokémon Go Championship Points based on their final standing, and the number of players in their division (to receive Championship points, players must opt-in to all Play! Pokémon Programs in their Trainer Club Account)

Due to the legal age of digital consent, all players must be 13 years of age or older to participate in the event.
