Out with the Old
This post is about the sales and inventory platforms we used to use, what we currently use and why.
We started off with TCGPlayer Pro for our inventory and sales platform. We had them for many years and only utilized them the past 4 years or so. This is the main platform most everyone seems to be on.
When I took over our online presence, I moved our website to Shopify and our POS to BinderPOS (powered by TCGPlayer). The platform was great in the beginning as it was 100% better than what we were using before, which was not a retail platform. This made our lives so much easier. But after time, the support for BinderPOS and TCGPlayer became worse and worse, to almost non existent.
I then started searching for something that could replace BinderPOS and still allow me to sell on TCGPlayer, but the search came up empty. Yes, there are a couple other platforms to replace BinderPOS, but you were still in the same boat and I wanted out. I needed something to integrate with Shopify and TCGPlayer.
After 6 to 8 months of searching, I came across a company called SortSwift. Upon researching them, I found that the founder was a game store owner. He also had previously been on multiple platforms and BinderPOS. He got tired of the no support, broken software and high fees, so he decided to create his own inventory management system with all the features an LGS needed.
I contacted him and had a one on one video call and asked all my questions. At his time, SortSwift was a year old. A brand new platform with a massive features list of current and soon to be features. I hadn't even touched the platform and I was in love with it. Everything I needed and more. And one of the best parts, NO FEES. No per transaction fees like BinderPOS, nothing. They have a flat monthly rate based on what you want and what you need.
I also saw that they were teamed up with 2 other platforms where you could list singles and sealed products, along with an integration for Shopify. One of the platforms, I was already a member of and was producing very good result with less fees than TCGPlayer Pro. The other platform SortSwift integrates with also has lower fees than TCGPlayer Pro.
I signed up for SortSwift, and completed the integration for Shopify, and both the other platforms. I then completely dropped TCGPlayer. I turned TCGPlayer off and removed ALL my inventory from them, and I have not looked back.
I absolutely love SortSwift, the features, the cost and the customer service. It is top notch. SortSwift has reinvented the wheel for LGS's, and none of the other system can stand up to them.
If you're a game store, this is the software for you. Customer service/support is off the charts. Their software is well worth every penny, saving you time, and giving you the tools you need to be productive to make your store a success.
